The Lodge Nature Reserve RSPB - 1 mile
The reserve is a mixture of woodland, heathland and acid grassland. Formal gardens surround The Lodge (the RSPB's headquarters, not open to the public). The reserve is a good place to see woodland and garden birds. Nature trails. Hide. Visitor Centre with information and refreshments. Picnic area. Tel. 01767 680541.
Open*: Visitor Centre open M-F 0900-1700, SSu & BH 1000-1700. Reserve open daily 0900-2100 (or sunset when earlier).

For a quieter return route to the station you can leave the Reserve through a gate at the south end and turn right along the bridleway leading to Stratford Road. It is 1½ miles from the gate to the station.
