Ham Street

Kent

Ham Street map The village of Hamstreet has a traditional weatherboard High Street and once appeared in map form on a series of postage stamps to mark the bicentenary of the Ordnance Survey. The Greensand Way LDP crosses Ham Street station and enters Hamstreet Woods. The Saxon Shore Way LDP also passes through the woodlands and it is about 1 mile west along the Saxon Shore Way to the ancient smuggling village of Warehorne. Hamstreet is roughly the mid-point along the Royal Military Canal which is 1 mile south of the station. A footpath runs for the entire 28 mile length of this Napoleonic defensive structure.
