Dreamland - Marine Terrace
One of Britain's most famous seaside amusement parks. The park, which opened in 1920, is home to the oldest operating roller coaster in the country, the Scenic Railway. Tel. 01843 299244.

Margate Museum - Old Town Hall, Market Place

Shell Grotto - Grotto Hill
A series of underground rooms and passageways covered with shell mosaics. Its origin is a mystery, although many believe it is a 2000-year-old temple. Tel. 01843 220008.

Drapers Windmill - St Peter's Footpath, off College Road
A restored smock windmill built in 1845. Tel. 01843 291696.
