Sheerness Heritage Centre - Rose Street
The Centre is housed in an early 19th century dockyard worker's cottage and rooms have been restored to reflect that period with contemporary furniture. Displays explain the development of the dockyard from the 17th century Royal Dockyard to the present day commercial port. Tel. 01795 663317.

Minster Abbey Gatehouse Museum - by bus
Displays in the medieval abbey gatehouse explain the history of the Isle of Sheppey. Exhibits include fossils, costumes, paintings and photographs. There are good views from the top of the tower. Tel. 01795 661119.
Open*: Easter & Spring BH weekend 1400-1700. Mid Jul-early Sep, TFS 1400-1700. Please telephone to confirm.
Bus: 360/362 from station to Minster High Street (360) or Queens Road (362), about 15 minutes journey, M-S ½-hourly, Sun hourly (2-hourly mid Sep-May). 360 returns from Back Lane, not High Street. Traveline tel. 0871 200 2233.
