Sturry station also serves the picturesque village of Fordwich, ½ mile south of the station. Fordwich is Britain's smallest town, with a population of about 300. The Stour Valley Walk passes through Fordwich.

Fordwich Town Hall - ¾ mile
This timber-framed building overlooking the River Stour dates from 1544 and it is still used by the present town council for meetings.

Wildwood - by bus
Animals from the British countryside in their natural setting, ancient woodland. Animals include badgers, deer, foxes, otters, pine marten, red squirrels, wild cats and wolves. Adventure play area. Restaurant and picnic area. Tel. 01227 712111.

Sarre Mill - by bus
A restored and working windmill of 1820. Old farm machinery. Craft shop. Refreshments. Tel. 01843 847573.
