The museum's main purpose is to provide a secure store for a huge collection of objects relating to London's bus and Underground services. The main London Transport Museum in Covent Garden can display only a small selection from the collection, the rest is stored at the Museum Depot. Refreshments. Tel. 020 020 7379 6344.

Gunnersbury Park Museum - ½ mile
Once home to the Rothschild family, Gunnersbury is now a museum covering the social history of Hounslow and Ealing. Victorian kitchens open summer weekends. Exhibitions programme. The museum is set in parkland with ruins, follies, lakes and playgrounds. Café in park. Tel. 020 8992 1612.
