Greenwich map Greenwich is a bustling riverside town with historic buildings, street markets and many pubs and restaurants. The Prime Meridian passes through Greenwich and it is marked on the ground at the Old Royal Observatory. The attractive Greenwich Park has good views London and across the Thames to the London Docklands.

Cutty Sark - King William Walk
The only remaining Tea Clipper and one of the fastest clipper ships ever built. Recreations of life at sea in Victorian times. Guided tours available (please see website). Tel. 020 8858 3445.

Queen's House - Romney Road

Old Royal Observatory - Greenwich Park, ½ mile (uphill)
The home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Greenwich Meridian, Longitude 0°. Historic timepieces including 'H4', the forerunner of all precision watches. Navigational instruments. Ranger's House EH - Chesterfield Walk, ¾ mile (uphill)
An elegant Georgian mansion housing medieval and Renaissance works of art collected by the Victorian diamond magnate and philanthropist Sir Julius Wernher (1850-1912). The collection includes silver, jewels, paintings and porcelain. Tel. 020 8853 0035.
