Hampstead (Underground)

London Travelcard Zones 2/3, Northern Line

Hampstead map Hampstead is on a steep hill and you may prefer to walk down to Hampstead Heath National Rail station for your return journey.

Flask Walk, Holly Hill, New End Square and Willow Road are quiet roads with less traffic.

Hampstead station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line Underground.

Fenton House NT - ¼ mile (uphill)
A handsome 17th century merchant's house in the winding streets of Hampstead village. Georgian furniture and collections of needlework pictures, porcelain collection and early keyboard instruments. Walled garden with roses, orchard and kitchen garden. Tel. 020 7435 3471.

Hampstead Museum (Burgh House) - ¼ mile

2 Willow Road NT - ½ mile
The architect Ernö Goldfinger designed and built this house as his family home in 1939. It is an important example of 1930s Modernist architecture and is filled with furniture also designed by Goldfinger. 20th century art collection. Guided tours, but unguided from 1500 daily. Tel. 020 7435 6166.
