This magnificent 18th century building by Sir William Chambers is noted for its classical interiors and architectural features. Somerset House contains: the Courtauld Institute of Art Gallery (paintings, sculptures and decorative arts); the Gilbert Collection (decorative arts); and the Hermitage Rooms (changing exhibitions). The Hermitage Rooms are decorated in the style of the State Hermitage Rooms in St Petersburg. Tel. 020 7845 4600.
