Brandon map A small market town in the Breckland area on the Little Ouse river which forms the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Brandon is in Suffolk but the station is just over the border in Norfolk.

Brandon Heritage Centre - George St
The history of Brandon from the Stone Age to the present day. Displays include a flint knapper's workshop. Tel. 07709 236446.

Brandon Country Park - 1¼ miles
The extensive parkland is managed for wildlife. Forest paths, lake, orchard, walled ornamental garden. Visitor Centre with wildlife exhibition. Waymarked trails. Tearoom. Tel. 01842 810185.

Weeting Castle EH - 1½ miles
The ruins of an early medieval manor house, surrounded by a shallow moat. Admission free.

Weeting Heath National Nature Reserve - 2¼ miles or bus
A nature reserve of Breck heathland noted for its rare Breckland flora and population of rare stone curlews as well as many other birds and butterflies. Hides and Visitor Centre. Tel. 01842 827615.
Open*: Apr-Sep, Daily 0700-dusk. Visitor Centre closed in Sept.
