Claygate map Claremont Landscape Garden NT - 2 miles
One of the earliest surviving English landscape gardens, restored by the National Trust. Features include a lake, island, grotto, turf amphitheatre, viewpoints and vistas. Tearoom (closed Mon & Tue). Tel. 01372 467806.
Open*: Apr-Oct, Daily 1000-1800 but Tearoom closed Mon & Tue. Nov-Mar, TWThFSSu 1000-1700.

Walking route from Claygate: From the station approach road turn left into Hare Lane, then continue along Milbourne Lane to the end. Cross the road and pass a pair of Estate Lodges into Claremont Drive (private road), then right into Claremont Park Road, and right again into Old Chestnut Avenue. Pass through the pedestrian gate at the end of this private road and turn left onto the busy A307. Cross to the path beside the A307 and follow this past Claremont School to Claremont Landscape Garden.
