Pulborough map South Downs Light Railway - ¾ mile (within Wyvevale Garden Centre)
A narrow gauge railway which runs for almost a mile through the grounds of Wyevale Garden Centre. Trains are usually steam hauled by 1/5th scale locomotives. See the website for special event days. Restaurant in garden centre. Tel. 07518 753784 (informatiom line).

Pulborough Brooks RSPB - 2½ miles or by bus
A nature reserve in the beautiful Arun Valley, with views across wet meadows and fields to the South Downs. One of Europe's top wetlands for birds and other wildlife. Visitor Centre, reserve trail, tearoom and picnic area. Tel. 01798 875851.
Open*: Daily from 0930, Visitor Centre closes 1700, reserve closes 2100 or dusk if earlier.

Bus: 100 from station to entrance drive. M-S hourly, 5 minutes journey. Traveline tel. 0871 200 2233. In addition, on Sun & BH bus 102 operates every 2 hours one way only, from station to entrance drive.
Note: Visitors walking from the station must cross the reserve using the public footpath to the Visitor Centre (2½ miles). However, you may return direct to the station from the reserve trail (1¾ miles).

Parham House and Gardens - by bus then ¾ mile
A beautiful Elizabethan House with light, panelled rooms containing old furniture, paintings and textiles. Walled garden, 1920s Wendy house, lake and 18th century Pleasure Grounds. Light lunches and cream teas. Tel. 01903 7444888 (information line), 01903 742021 (general).

Petworth - by bus

Petworth map Petworth is a compact market town that has become an important antique centre.

Petworth House and Park NT - by bus
A vast 17th century country house set in a beautiful park landscaped by 'Capability' Brown. The house contains an internationally important art collection, including works by Turner, Van Dyck, Reynolds and Blake. Fine furniture and carvings by Grinling Gibbons. Servants' Quarters including the kitchens. Restaurant. Tel. 01798 342207.
Open*: Apr-Oct, MTWSSu 1100-1700. Park open daily until dusk.

Petworth Cottage Museum - by bus
An estate worker's small cottage furnished as it would have been in 1910 when a seamstress lived there. It is full of the detail of everyday life at the time, plus a garden with old fashioned plants. Tel. 01798 342100.
